Sakura Matsuri

Today, we headed up North to the Cherry Blossom Festival, or Sakura Matsuri, in Nago.  After lots of rainy days in the last few week, the weather was perfect!  We visited one of the most famous cherry blossom spots of Okinawa, Nago Castle Park.

When you arrive at the park there is a winding path of over 700 stone steps that lead you up to the Nago Castle site.

This path is lined with beautiful ishidoro or stone lanterns.

About half way up the path there is a Torii Gate and a Shinto Shrine to rest and take photos.

As you gut further up the mountain, there is a really beautiful bridge that even has carved cherry blossom railings.

We hung out for a bit until we made our way back down the mountain.

And just to prove that I was, in fact, there; here is a photo that Max took of Stacy and Me.
