126/365: Dragon Boat Races

Today, Stacy and I took Madsion and Natalie to see the Dragon Boat Races down in Naha. Dragon Boat Races, called haarii (Chinese for "dragon") are held every year in the beginning of May. They began in the 14th century as a way to honor the God of the Sea. There is a big festival held along the docks. You can find many Okinawan foods, and there are games and souvenirs to purchase.

When we first arrived, Natalie was terrified and did not want to see "Dragons in a boat!" After she calmed down and I explained that there were not dragons in a boat she had a great time!

It poured on and off all day and then got super hot. Hope that explains Natalie's look!
