27 is here!
So, yesterday I turned the big 2-7. I had a great day with my friend Natalie and all the Girls. We hung out at the house and then met Jason for lunch at the USO.
I have to share my list of presents with you, well, because it was my birthday and I'll do what I want to!
Jason got me a Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6
Sigma EF-530 Flash
Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 :)
new coffee cup
notebook
The 70-300mm lens and the flash were a total surprise. I have been lusting after the 28-75mm lens for quite some time and I CANNOT wait for it to get here. One of the crappy things about living in Japan is that mail takes FOREVER to get here. Standard first class postage can take up to 6 weeks and priority mail takes up to 2 weeks. Good news is that the company offered free priority shipping to FPO boxes so it should only take 2 weeks! YIPPEE!! I recently purchased a new coffee cup for my Mom and Step Dad to replace the ones that Mom bought 5 years ago. I hadn't purchased one for myself yet but my wonderful Hubby knew the one I wanted and got it for me! And the notebook, well, I feel like since we moved here I haven't been able to find a pen or a piece of paper that hasn't been scribbled on. Now, I have my very own notebook all to myself!
My girlfriend Natalie got me my very own Ice Tea maker and a bottle brush(lol). About once a week I go to her house to get a pitcher of her sweet tea and now I can make my very own at home! And the bottle brush comes from my sponge and fork antics that I use to clean sippy cups.
My girlfriend Kara sent me a trinket box to add to my Willow Tree collection. It's gorgeous and I love it, finally I have a place to keep my wedding rings where I'll always be able to find them. We have been buying them for each other for quite some time now and I'm building up quite the collection!
So waking up 27 was just like I envisioned, no different than waking up at 26. I don't have grey hair and I don't feel more distinguished. Just feels like the same ol' me and I'm ok with that! Still working on that family portrait...
