Yay!!!

Today was a very long, but good day!

Jason and I took and passed our Driver's test and we got to pick out our new house!! The test itself was easy but that certainly doesn't make me feel any better about driving here. Things are so backwards - it's going to take a while to get used to.

We had 3 choices in houses. They offered us 2 places in The Towers, which are high rise apartment building and one brand new place in a multi-plex, which would be like condos. We picked the multi-plex. It has lots of closets, a small fenced in back patio, and a park right out our front door. I really didn't want a place in The Towers; I can only imagine how difficult it would be to lug groceries and kids up to the 5th floor.

Tomorrow we have a Newcomer's Orientation that will be from 6:40 am until after 5 pm. We were able to get daycare for Natalie but there was no space available for Emme. Emme is pretty content with sitting in her stroller so hopefully we'll have some breaks in there to let her run around. We will be learning things about Okinawa culture and like the do's and dont's on living on the island.

I am so super excited to get settled into our new place! It's still going to be a few more days. We have to sign our lease and arrange for the furniture to be delivered. We were weight restricted coming over so we didn't bring any of our personal furninture. Here on Okinawa the government supplies all of the furniture that we will need. Our first shipment arrived today so we can arrange to have that delivered the day we moved in and we will have things from home.

We are slowly getting used to the time here. We do find ourselves exhausted by 7:30 pm. but we are sleeping through the night until 5 am. I heard that in a few months we should have about 18 hours of daylight a day, that should be fun to get used to as well!!
