We ventured out, oh my!!

We bought a car yesterday. It's a Honda Odyssey. Just like the ones in the States except the steering wheel is on the other side, LOL! It was a good deal, we walked out the door after paying taxes and insurance for $2400. Couldn't beat that. Driving here isn't really as hard as I thought it would be. I'm just not used to having to look left to my rear view mirror.

We ventured out into town last night. We went to this place called San A. I guess it's like a Walmart. It has two levels with a bunch of different departments inside. The departments are almost setup like they are their own stores but they all use a centrally located cashier. Nobody spoke English and we were clueless about the currency. We know the exchange but I didn't know what each of the coins were. Our $5 is a 500 yen coin. It's going to take some getting used to but I'm sure it will be normal for us soon.

We only have a couple more days in this hotel. It's not bad, but it will feel so good to be back into our own place! We went shopping today to pick up some toiletries and boxed and canned food, so we will be a little more prepared when we move in. Some things are outrageous here, but there are envelopes with expired coupons in them at customer service for us to use. At the commissary we can used coupons that are up to 6 months expired so if you are not using any or they expire on you, please send them our way and we will be sure to pass them along!!
